As health insurer exits Wyoming, skyrocketing Obamacare prices loom
Healthy Wyoming’s Interim Executive Director Jenn Lowe was featured in a recent Jackson Hole News & Guide article on Obamacare prices in the wake of Mountain Health Co-Op’s exit from Wyoming.
Congress could have extended the subsidy in its recent Trump-backed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” but chose not to, leaving public health experts shouting from the rooftops.
“Consumers in Wyoming, especially those that don’t have insurance provided through their job, are going to be hit hard,” said Jenn Lowe, the interim executive director of Healthy Wyoming, a coalition that advocates for Medicaid expansion here. “Many of them are going to choose to go without insurance.
“When I look at what’s happening from a macro perspective, it’s pretty clear that Congress is dismantling the ACA and the marketplace piece by piece,” she added.
